The Impact of Interactive Video Lessons on Vocabulary Acquisition in Final Year ESL Students

Abstrak

This study aims to evaluate the impact of interactive video lessons on vocabulary acquisition among final-year ESL students at K.H. A. Wahab Hasbullah University. A pre-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design was employed, involving 16 participants. The results showed a significant improvement in vocabulary scores, with the mean pretest score increasing from 72.50 to 85.63 in the posttest. The paired samples t-test revealed a significant mean difference of -13.125 (p < 0.05), indicating the effectiveness of the interactive video lessons. Additionally, a moderate positive correlation (r = 0.540, p = 0.031) was found between pretest and posttest scores. These findings suggest that interactive video lessons can be a valuable tool in enhancing vocabulary acquisition in ESL education.
