Abstract

Modern people's way of doing business is synonymous with the strict application of economic principles. They try to get the maximum profit with as little capital as possible. This principle is not wrong, but it cannot be applied absolutely. If only profits are sought, producers will be arbitrariness towards consumers. To avoid oppressive behavior in business, Javanese people have ways to do business humanely. There are ethical limitations in the application of economic principles that need to be used as guidance. Javanese people have a solution using the "tuna satak bathi sanak" business system. This research focuses on parking service sellers around the city of Ponorogo. The research subjects were vehicle parking attendants on the side of the road in the city of Ponorogo. The research was carried out using an anthropological approach to gain an in-depth understanding of the application of the traditional Javanese people's business system. The data was extracted using direct ethnography, and the meanings contained therein were interpreted phenomenologically. The result is an understanding that traditionally, Javanese people have local wisdom when doing business. Profit is not seen as just increasing the material obtained, but there are material benefits that are much more important. This advantage is called relatives or brotherhood so that Javanese people do not feel lost in business activities.
