Development of Berkah Application Learning Media in Improving the Analytical Thinking Ability of Class IX Students of SMP Negeri 1 Kebonsari Madiun

Abstract

The era of globalization is closely related to the development of science and technology. The development of technology can be utilized in terms of teaching and learning activities to make them more effective and efficient through learning media. This research aims to develop application-based learning media called Berkah in an effort to improve the analytical thinking skills of class IX students at SMP Negeri 1 Kebonsari Madiun. The background of this research is based on the importance of developing interactive learning media that suits students' needs in the digital era. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model approach. The research subjects were 33 students of class IX A and IX B . The results of the research showed that the Berkah application was able to significantly improve students' analytical thinking skills. This media not only strengthens understanding of concepts, but also helps students solve problems logically and structured. This media is very effective in improving students' analytical thinking skills based on the Paired Sample T-Test test results of 0.000 and the N Gain test results of 0,3651. The Berkah application was declared suitable for use as a learning medium to support teaching and learning activities in schools based on an average student response score of 93 in the very good category. It is hoped that these findings can be an innovative solution in learning and have a positive impact on student academic achievement, especially in subjects that require analytical skills.
