The Effect Of Using PhET Simulations On The Learning Enthusiasm Of Seventh Grade Students
Abstract
Science learning is often difficult and abstract, especially if it is taught
through lectures or theory only. This can affect students' enthusiasm for
learning and understanding. They tend to get bored and unmotivated when
learning passively, as it is difficult to relate abstract concepts to real-world
situations. Non-interactive learning also makes students not interested in
actively participating in the learning process. This study aims to determine
the effect of the use of PhET simulation on the learning enthusiasm of grade
VII students by experimental methods using data collection techniques in the
form of observations and questionnaires. The subject of this study is grade
VII students at MTs Al-Islam Joresan Ponorogo. The data analyzed are the
results of the pre-introduction and post-introduction questionnaires that will
be presented using a bar chart. The results of the study showed that 88.2% of
students had a desire to know about cyberspace and 90% of students were
interested in using PhET simulation learning media. Overall, this study shows
that the use of PhET simulation affects the learning enthusiasm of grade VII
students.
