Abstract

Science learning in junior high schools often faces challenges in explaining abstract concepts, particularly the concept of water transport mechanisms in plants, which also involves the concept of capillarity. Generally, the learning media used by teachers is limited to videos and images, resulting in a lack of real-world experience for students. Therefore, interactive three-dimensional learning media is needed to make learning more contextual and meaningful. This research aims to develop integrated science learning media that is valid, effective, and easy to observe in visualizing the mechanism of water transport in plants based on the principle of capillarity. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate), which is shortened to 3D. Data was collected using a validation questionnaire distributed to junior high school science teachers. Expert validation resulted in an average score of 4.2, categorized as very good, indicating the media's suitability for use in learning. So, with the implementation of BioCapillary media, it is proven to increase the effectiveness and depth of learning. For future research, it is recommended to supplement it with materials that are more resistant to weather changes in order to improve the storage life of the medium
