Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of students’ understanding of the Human Digestive System material due to the limited learning media used. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Sparkol Videoscribe as a learning medium in improving the learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 9 Kota Kediri. The research method used was qualitative with a case study approach in the form of Classroom Action Research (CAR). Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and tests (pretest and posttest). The results showed that the students’ average scores increased from 48.2 to 85.2 after using Sparkol Videoscribe as a learning medium, with an N-Gain score of 0.72, which falls into the high category. This indicates that the Sparkol Videoscribe learning medium is effective in helping students understand the concept of the human digestive system. This learning medium also enhances students’ participation and interest during the learning process. Future research is expected to examine the use of similar learning media at different educational levels and for other subject materials
